When former Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer packed up his bags and left the Huskies for the Alabama Crimson Tide, he took plenty of his old staff with him. His old tight ends coach for the Huskies, Nick Sheridan, joined him in Tuscaloosa to coach the tight ends for the Crimson Tide.

On Friday evening, the former Michigan quarterback took to Twitter to pen an emotional farewell to the Husky fan base.

Nick Sheridan farewell message

“The past two years on Montlake have been incredible-the relationships that were built in Seattle will last a lifetime. Sarah and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to raise our kids. Thankful for everyone at UW who supported us-alum, donors, faculty, staff-you all are amazing. Thanks to the fans for making Husky Stadium shake. To ALL of the former Players and Coaches, especially the former TE’s – THANK YOU – our room felt the love and support from each one of you – we did our best to uphold the standard of play YOU created and make you proud. Lastly and most importantly, I want to thank our players AND their families for the impact they had on me and my family -we’re forever grateful for all of you. Mighty are the Men and Women. The best is yet to come for all of us.”

The Washington Huskies had a magical season in 2023-2024, making it all the way to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, where they lost to the Michigan Wolverines, Sheridan’s alma mater.

Before Washington, Sheridan spent from 20017-2021 with the Indiana Hoosiers, where he served as their offensive coordinator from 2020-2021. That was after Kalen DeBoer left to be the head coach for Washington. Sheridan worked as the Hoosiers’ quarterbacks coach in 2017-2018.
