Vincent Holmes only needed one official visit to know where he wanted to play college football.

On Saturday, the On3 four-star prospect announced his commitment to Washington in the midst of his official visit to Seattle.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder chose the Huskies over offers from Colorado, Arizona, BYU, Fresno State, Northern Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, and Washington State.

He is the No. 430 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3, however, ranks him significantly higher than any other major service, per the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 128 prospect, No. 9 safety and No. 6 player in California.

Vincent Holmes Scouting Summary

“Instinctive, athletic two-way playmaker who projects at safety long-term. Shows high-level play speed as a safety and receiver for his high school. The speed is validated on the track, where he ran a 10.99 second mark in the 100 meters as a junior. Flies downhill to make plays against the run and the quick game. Looks to have strong instincts, quickly breaking on routes to make plays on the ball. Plays at full speed as a cover down defender and drives through his tackles.

… Flashes the receiver ball skills at defensive back, picking off 4 passes as a junior. Bouncy and has plus high-point ability at safety. Flashes his top-end speed with the ability to win on vertical routes as a receiver. Listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, but his size is unverified. Will need to bulk up once he gets to the next level. Very young for the class, not turning 17 years-old until October of his senior season. Is a full year younger than many of his fellow 2023 prospects.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
