Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger offensive tackle Kahlee Tafai committed to Washington on Wednesday. The 6-foot-6, 300 pound prospect announced the news on social media.

“I want to first thank my mom for supporting me in everything,” Tafai wrote. “Lastly I want to thank the coaching staff at uw for believing in me. With that being said I’m excited to announce I am now committed to UW.”

Tafai, who is not ranked in the On3 Consensus or by On3, joins a Washington class that is currently ranked No. 30 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The class is led by Lake Charles (La.) Lake Charles College Prep four-star cornerback Curley Reed. Overall, the Huskies have three top-300 prospects in Reed, Wylie (Tex.) Wylie East four-star defensive lineman Anthony James and Pittsburg (Calif.) four-star wide receiver Rashid Williams.

Tafai is now the 19th commitment in Washington’s 2023 recruiting class. He is also the fourth offensive tackle recruit alongside Orange (Calif.) El Modena four-star Elishah Jackett, Menlo Park (Calif.) Menlo-Atherton three-star Soane Faasolo and Aurora (Co.) three-star Zachary Henning. The Huskies also have a commitment from Ferndale (Wash.) three-star interior offensive lineman Landen Hatchett.
