The Washington Huskies advance to the final of the Paycom Wooden Legacy tournament after defeating Fresno State 62-57. The game was filled with plenty of highlights plays at the rim, both offensively and defensively. But arguably, the play of the night was this slam by Huskies center Franck Kepnang.

With 2:35 left in the game and Fresno State trailing by just five points, Huskies guard Koren Johnson dished it to Kepnang in the lane wide open. The Bulldogs’ defense tried to rotate over to contest the shot, but by then, it was too late. The six foot 11 junior from Cameroon rose up over the defender, slamming it down with one hand, making the young man a part of his highlight reel.

With the win, Washington will now face the winner out of Vanderbilt and St. Mary’s, who will play later on Wednesday night. For now, the Huskies can kick back and relax, watch the game, and enjoy this highlight dunk by Kepnang over and over.

He also paces the team in blocked shots with 2.0 per game.

Scoring-wise, the Huskies are led by the tandem of Keion Brooks and Keyon Menifield. Both are averaging over 15 points a game, with the freshman guard from Flint, MI, Menifield, pacing the team at 15.8 points per game.

So far, for the Huskies, it’s been a solid start to the season. Look for them to continue this trend as they close out the tournament on Thursday, facing the winner out of Saint Mary’s and Vanderbilt. And look for Kepnang to keep providing a spark off the bench all season long.
