Washington cornerback Elijah Jackson plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday on X. He spent the past five seasons with the Huskies and will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Jackson played 34 games for the Huskies over the past four years, including eight in 2024. He was a member of the Washington team that finished runner up in the 2023 national championship against Michigan.

“I want to express my gratitude to the University of Washington and Husky nation,” Jackson wrote in his post. “I’m grateful for the support of the fans, the special relationships I’ve built here and the memories we’ve created that will be remembered forever. Thank you to my family, friends and mentors for their constant support.

“…To my teammates, I am grateful to have met and competed alongside y’all. From knowing nobody out there, to having Seattle feel like home. Y’all are my brothers for life. With that being said, I will be entering the NCAA transfer portal.”

Jackson had his best season during Washington’s run to the championship game in 2023. He finished that year with 61 total tackles, six passes defended and two forced fumble, all of which were career highs.

Jackson played high school football at Lawndale (CA), where he was a three-star prospect in the 2020 cycle. He ranked as the No. 518 overall player and No. 42 cornerback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Washington has now seen 15 players enter the transfer portal so far while only bringing in six to make up for it. That in mind, the Huskies have some work to do before the portal closes on Dec. 28.
