Oakland Bishop O’Dowd three-star athlete Deji Ajose has committed to Washington, he announced on Saturday.

He chose Jedd Fisch and the Huskies over Oregon State, Utah and California, among others.

Ajose is the No. 591 overall prospect and No. 29 ATH in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 46 player in California.

Ajose, who plays wide receiver, running back and cornerback at Bishop O’Dowd, makes a dozen commitments for the Huskies this month, continuing the program’s ascent into the top 25 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound playmaker took an official visit to Seattle on June 19.

Last season, Ajose played seven games and caught 28 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns while also racking up over 100 yards on kick returns. He also tallied 11 tackles, including two tackles for loss and a sack, as well as an interception.

Huskies add another pledge from rising Golden State prospect

With Ajose now in the mix, Washington’s 2025 class features 17 total commitments. Seven of those pledges hail from California, including the two highest-ranked prospects in the fold.

Fullerton (Calif.) Troy four-star tight end Vander Ploog committed on June 25 and is On3’s No. 140 recruit and No. 7 TE in the nation. Fisch and TEs coach Jordan Paopao locked down one of the Golden State’s best this cycle.

“I like the developmental lessons that I’ve seen from Coach Paopao,” Ploog told On3’s Chad Simmons. “He’s a phenomenal coach. He has coached a ton of dudes who have already played in the NFL. He’s a profound coach, so I really like the coaching there and the family culture that they create over there.”

Ploog is one of three top-300 commits in the class, alongside San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian four-star interior offensive lineman Champ Taulealea and Tempe (Ariz.) IMG Academy four-star wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright. On3 also ranks Vines-Bright higher than other recruiting services, as he is a top-20 wideout in the On300.

Auburn (Wash.) Riverside four-star linebacker Jonathan Epperson is the No. 2 player in Washington and also committed earlier this month. Temecula (Calif.) Mater Dei three-star quarterback Dash Beierly and Mililani (Hawaii) three-star QB Treston McMillan are both in the fold, as are the likes of San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra Catholic three-star IOL Jake Flores and Danville (Calif.) Monta Vista three-star running back Julian McMahan.
