Washington Huskies land former UAB linebacker Kris Moll
The Washington Huskies added to their defensive ranks on Tuesday, landing former UAB Blazers linebacker Kristopher Moll from the transfer portal. Moll announced his decision on Twitter with a graphic that reads “305 to 206.” He had previously announced that he was committing to UCF to play for Gus Malzahn but the choice from April 26th didn’t stick.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker is a Miami (Fla.) native with five years of experience under his belt. A member of the 2017 signing class, Moll is a super senior. He had the best season of his career in 2019, racking up 103 total tackles with nine sacks and four forced fumbles. After making several watchlists for the 2021 season, Moll suffered an injury that put him on the bench after four games and 14 tackles.
Moll will have one year to play for the Huskies who are coming off a 4-8 finish last season. Washington has added more than a handful of players to come in for 2022. However, on the flip side, they’ve lost several more players, including a couple to Pac-12 rival USC.
Former Washington corner headed to USC
Former Washington Huskies cornerback Jacobe Covington officially exited the transfer portal on Sunday evening and decided to play his college football next season with the USC Trojans, per On3’s Matt Zenitz. The former four-star prospect also posted the news to his Twitter page tonight, too. It’s yet another big land for Trojans’ head coach Lincoln Riley.
