LOOK: Washington Huskies unveil uniforms ahead of Week 8 matchup with Cal Golden Bears
The Washington Huskies are preparing for their Week 8 road matchup with the Cal Golden Bears and they’ve busted out some beautiful uniforms for Saturday night. Since they’re traveling to Cal, the Huskies will be donning their road alternate uniforms, their “Husky Royalty” uniforms.
Check them out below.
These are some of the cooler road alternate jerseys in college football. The white goes really well with the gold and purple outline on the numbers. The video that Washington dropped in early August will give you a much clearer look at the uniforms if you want to check that out.
There’s just something about the white and gold with these unis that really pops. It’s an excellent combo and makes perfect sense considering the “Royalty” theme from Adidas.

Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. leads one of the nation’s most prolific passing attacks
Washington enters the game with a 5-2 overall record and Cal sits at 3-3 overall. The Huskies feature one of the nation’s most prolific passing attacks, averaging 42.1 points per game. They rolled out to a 4-0 start at the beginning of the season, but have since cooled off, dropping two of their last three games by eight points or less. Their quarterback, Michael Penix, Jr. is unquestionably the straw that stirs the drink for them and he’s the biggest reason Washington currently leads the nation in passing yards per game (380.0). He’s completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 2,560 yards, while tossing in 20 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

While Penix has thrown some costly interceptions that knocked him out of Heisman contention, it’s still refreshing to see him get some media buzz and attention that he deserves nationally. His favorite target is sophomore receiver Rome Odunze, a former four-star recruit in the 2020 cycle. He attended Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada–one of the nation’s preeminent football powerhouses. Odunze has hauled in 44 catches for 693 receiving yards this season, while reeling in six touchdown catches.
Washington will face the Cal Golden Bears on Saturday, Oct. 22. Kickoff is slated for 10:30 PM EST and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
