Washington OL Kahlee Tafai enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Washington offensive lineman Kahlee Tafai has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Tafai spent two seasons at Washington.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God, Coach DeBoer, and Coach Huff for taking a chance on me and for bringing me into this amazing program,” Tafai wrote in his decision announcement. “The things that I’ve accomplished here will be memories for the rest of my life.
“Thank you to Coach Fisch for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talents, and thank you to my teammates and everyone part of the Washington program for the support over these past two years. With that being said, l’ll be entering the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility left. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
After beginning this season as a backup, Tafai started the final four games of the regular season for the Huskies. In his true freshman season in 2023, Tafai didn’t see any game action and ultimately redshirted.
Kahlee Tafai played high school football at Leuzinger (CA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 894 overall recruit and No. 58 offensive tackle in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Coming out of high school, Tafai chose Washington over Arizona and Oregon State. He also had offers from Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, Nebraska, Oregon, San Diego State and Utah. Now, for the first time in his collegiate career, Tafai will test the portal waters with hopes to find greener pastures.
In head coach Jedd Fisch‘s first season at the helm, Washington finished the regular season with a 6-6 record. Tafai is the 12th Washington player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal during or since the 2024 campaign.
