Washington SF Tyler Harris plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Washington SF Tyler Harris plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Joe Tipton confirms. Harris averaged 11.8 points per game for the Huskies in 2024-2025.
Harris started in 27 of the 30 games he appeared for with the Huskies this past season. The 6 foot 8 guard finished his sophomore season this year and ultimately spent one season with Washington. He transferred to the Huskies program last offseason after starting his collegiate career at Portland.
There, he averaged 12.1 points along with 7.3 rebounds per game as a true freshman. Despite a small dip in production as a sophomore, he’s become a proven scorer at multiple levels in college basketball.
Harris is the third player from this past season’s Huskies roster the reveal their intention to enter the transfer portal on Monday. Both guard Mekhi Mason and forward Wilhelm Breidenbach officially entered before Harris’ decision.
As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow as the 2024-25 college basketball season nears its end.

Mekhi Mason, Wilhelm Breidenbach enter transfer portal
Breidenbach played high school basketball at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 109 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Prior to his two seasons with Washington, Breidenbach played two years with Nebraska. He appeared in 42 games total for the Cornhuskers, averaging 3.6 points during the 2022-23 season for the Big Ten program.
For Mason, he originally enrolled at Rice and spent two seasons with the Owls. Then he transferred to Washington ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
He fared fairly well at the higher level, though his per-game averages dipped a bit from his sophomore season to his junior season. Still, Mason was a very productive player. Mekhi Mason averaged 9.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He also chipped in 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per contest. He did that while appearing in 31 games for the Huskies. He started 20 of those games.
