Washington upsets No. 10 Michigan despite QB change
The Washington Huskies survived a tough and physical battle with the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night, coming away with an upset of the 10th-ranked Wolverines in Seattle, in front of their home fans. Washington pulled out the 27-17 win. The Huskies were up 14-0 in the second quarter, but Michigan battled back to make it an exciting and interesting game, thanks to benching quarterback Alex Orji and going with Jack Tuttle under center.
The fans in Seattle immediately poured out onto the field. It was a signature win for their program, on a day in which the sport of college football saw multiple upsets across the country, including Vanderbilt taking down top-ranked Alabama. Arkansas took down Tennessee, and many others. Miami survived a serious scare from the Cal Golden Bears, and they managed to pull off a 25-point comeback. It was the biggest comeback in college football this season.
Vanderbilt upsets Alabama
This is the first top-five win for Vanderbilt, previously being 0-60. A lot of highly-ranked teams have come through Nashville and taken care of business but not Alabama.
On the flip side, Alabama has lost just three times as the No. 1 team to unranked opponents. Georgia Tech in 1962 was the first, while Mississippi State took them down in 1980. Vanderbilt is the latest and now takes the place of Texas A&M, who got a big upset win under head coach Jimbo Fisher.

Washington was able to take down Michigan, in what was a rematch of the 2024 National Championship Game. The Huskies got their revenge and in a big way, with quarterbacks Will Rogers and Demond Williams Jr. both getting snaps.
Rogers completed 21 of his 31 passes for 271 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns and one interception. Huskies’ receiver Denzel Boston hauled in five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Michigan running backs Donovan Edwards and Kalel Mullings combined for nearly 150 rushing yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough.
