Aledo (Texas) defensive lineman Ansel Din-Mbuh committed to Washington State on Sunday night. He chose the Cougars over multiple programs include Air Force and Wyoming.

Din-Mbuh is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He is 6-foot-2 and weights 265 pounds.

Washington State now has 15 members of its 2023 recruiting class. Din-Mbuh is one of two defensive lineman in the group alongside Houston (Texas) Shadow Creek three-star Theorin Randle, the No. 1,386 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

The highest-ranked prospect in Washington State’s group is Portland (Ore.) Pleasant Grove three-star quarterback Sam Leavitt, the No. 858 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. Washington State has two other top-1,000 commits in Hawthorne (Fla.) three-star EDGE Jailen Ruth and Yuba City (Calif.) three-star interior offensive lineman Noah Dunham.

Din-Mbuh is the Cougars’ first pledge this month. Even though Washington State didn’t receive any commitments in August, the program had a big July on the recruiting trail. Seven recruits chose the program, including Leavitt, Randle, Ruth and El Cerrito (Calif.) three-star cornerback Warren Smith. The others were Midlothian (Texas) three-star running back Deago Benson, Lehi (Utah) three-star EDGE Isaac Terrell and Round Rock (Texas) safety Jalen Gilbert.

The Cougars also landed four commitments in June. Those prospects include Dunham, Colorado Springs (Co.) Vista Ridge three-star wide receiver Brandon Hills, Monrovia (Calif.) three-star wide receiver Carlos Hernandez and Fountain (Co.) Fountain-Fort Carson three-star linebacker Tai Faavae.
