2024 ATH Trae Davis decommits from Washington State
Troup (Texas) three-star athlete Trae Davis has decommitted from Washington State. He was pledged to the Cougars since Sept. 27.
Davis is the No. 477 overall prospect and No. 16 ATH in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 83 player in the Lone Star State.
“Thank you Washington State for everything and thank y’all coaches for believing in me but I will be decommitting. I wish the best of luck to the staff and the team. Still love coming from Etx,” Davis wrote.
Davis is coming off of an official visit with Kansas State on Nov. 10. The Wildcats offered the week following his pledge to Washington State.
He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Cougars’ 2024 recruiting class lacking firepower
Following the decommitment of Davis, the Cougars’ class now features just 18 pledges and ranks No. 62 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. Of the commits, only Oxnard (Calif.) Pacifica three-star running back Josh Joyner ranks inside the top 1000 of the On3 Industry Ranking.
Joyner is the No. 835 overall prospect and No. 65 tailback in the 2024 cycle. He pledged to Wazzou on June 26 and was among a flurry of recruits to pledge to Jake Dickert and Co. during the summer. The Cougars picked up 11 commitments in June and July.
Behind Joyner, Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic three-star cornerback Tyson Weaver, Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International three-star quarterback Evans Chuba, Camas (Wash.) three-star offensive tackle Carson Osmus and Lancaster (Calif.) Antelope Valley three-star safety Dajon Doss sit atop the class for WSU.
California natives compile a chunk of Dickert’s pledge list as of Nov. 13. Of the 18 commits, seven hail from the Golden State. Fresno Clovis West three-star wide receiver Landon Wright, Sacramento Elk Grove Charter three-star running back Wayshawn Parker, Granite Bay three-star linebacker Frank Cusano, Davis Senior three-star athlete AJ Hasson and El Cerrito three-star athlete Kamani Jackson join Joyner and Doss as the Californians in the class.
