Rock Hill (S.C.) Northwestern three-star receiver Elijah Caldwell has decommitted from West Virginia.

“After praying and speaking about my decision with my family and coaches, I have decided to de-commit from West Virginia University and explore my options. My recruitment is now open,” Caldwell tweeted Monday afternoon. “I would like to thank Coach Brown and Coach Washington for believing in me and giving me a chance.”

Caldwell is the No. 896 overall prospect and No. 135 receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in South Carolina.

Caldwell currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.3K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

With Jones’ decommitment, the Mountaineers now have 20 commitments in their 2023 class.
