Former Chattanooga point guard Honor Huff committed to West Virginia out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining after starting his career at the Virginia Military Institute.

Huff was phenomenal for the Mocs this past season, averaging 15.2 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds. Now, he’ll add those numbers to the Mountaineers.

Chattanooga won the National Invitation Tournament this past season, thanks in part to Huff’s contributions. They defeated UC Irvine in the finale by one point in overtime, where Huff scored 14 points to help the Mocs get the dub.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Huff was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his HS basketball in Pennsburg (Pa.) at the Perkiomen School.

Huff isn’t the only player West Virginia landed in the transfer portal. The Mountaineers also landed North Texas transfer Brenen Lorient.

In his lone campaign with the Mean Green, Lorient averaged 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 24.9 minutes per game. He shot 56.9% from the field and 47.8% from beyond the arc. However, it’s worth noting he only 23 3-pointers throughout the season.

In Brenen Lorient’s two seasons at FAU, he made 52 total appearances. He never started for the Owls and only averaged 8.8 minutes per game during his sophomore season.

Lorient played high school basketball at Calvary Christian Academy (FL), where he was a three-star recruit. He was the No. 243 overall recruit and No. 51 power forward in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
