West Virginia announces the hiring of Graham Harrell as new OC
After serving as USC’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2019-2021, Graham Harrell is moving across the country to join the West Virginia program in the same roles. The school officially announced the news Monday.
Harrell, an Ennis, Texas native, spent the 2016-2018 seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at North Texas before being hired at USC. Harrell wasn’t retained by the new Trojans’ staff after Clay Helton was fired.
Now 36, Harrell played quarterback at Texas Tech before getting into the coaching field in a quality control role at Oklahoma State in 2009. He spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons at Washington State as an offensive analyst and then outside wide receivers coach prior to going to North Texas.
Harrell takes over a West Virginia offense that averaged 328 yards and 25 points per game this past season. The Mountaineers went 6-7 overall.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“Everyday I try to represent my family and where I am from with everything in me,” Wright said in a statement. “I want to thank every university that has given me the opportunity to play my last year of college football and represent their program. After a lot of thought and prayer I think it is in my heart to be closer to home and around my family and community even more during this time in my life. With that being said, I would like to announce I will be continuing my college career for these next 8 months at Florida State University!!”
Wright has spent the last three seasons in Morgantown, playing in 33 career games. The wide receiver had his best year during 2021, hauling in 688 yards and five touchdowns on 63 receptions.
Coming out of high school, Wright was a three-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. He was a top 100 prospect in the state of Georgia, being a native of Savannah. Wright was ranked the No. 118 receiver, originally a member of the 2019 recruiting class.
Wright is now the second wide receiver to commit to Florida State this transfer cycle. The Seminoles will be adding Oregon’s Mycah Pittman to the roster as well, looking to revamp the offense under Norvell heading into the 2022 season.
