Former West Virginia Mountaineer All-American left tackle Ryan Stanchek is moving on from Florida A&M to join the coaching staff at Austin Peavy. On3’s Matt’s Zenitz reported via Twitter that sources close to the program have pinned Stanchek as the Governors next offensive line coach/ Co-offensive coordinator.

Stanchek played at West Virginia underneath head coach Rich Rodriguez from 2004-05 until graduating after the 2008-09 season. He was named a starter in his sophomore season at tackle. Stanchek blocked for Heisman candidates quarterback Patrick White and running back Steve Slaton. He was a member of the Mountaineers offensive line that contributed to their dominant running game for three straight seasons.

His coaching career started at Alcorn State as just an offensive line coach in 2014. Stanchek coached there for four years before deciding to move to a larger program at Southern Miss in 2019 for the same position. After two years there, the former Mountaineer headed to Florida A&M, where he became their offensive line coach but also gained the title of co-offensive coordinator.
