West Virginia lands commitment from coveted OL target Gavin Crawford
Olney (Md.) Good Counsel offensive lineman Gavin Crawford announced his commitment to West Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Crawford also strongly considered opportunities from UCLA, Pittsburgh, Maryland and Florida among others.
“West Virginia just feels like one big family in every aspect,” Crawford said. “It’s a place I feel I can get developed and I feel that I’ll be able to achieve my ultimate goal of going to the NFL.”
Crawford becomes commit No. 7 for the Mountaineers in the 2025 recruiting class, joining high school teammate and fellow offensive lineman Eidan Buchanan.
West Virginia was the first P4 offer for Crawford, extending him a scholarship back in January of 2023. Offensive line coach Matt Moore led the charge in this recruitment.

“Over the course of my high school career I’ve been able to see the trajectory of the program and it just stays going up,” Crawford said. “I feel like with the additions of me and some of my future teammates we will be able to continue that trajectory.”
“Also their ability to get young guys in and play early and play well having three back-to-back freshmen All-Americans shows how good they are in that aspect.”
The On3 Industry tabs Crawford as the nation’s No. 45 interior offensive line recruit.
Other members of the West Virginia recruiting class includes Hurricane (WV) High receiver Tyshawn Dues, Mentor (Ohio) High quarterback Scotty Fox, DeForest (Wis.) High tight end Jackson Accuardi, Huntington (WV) High athlete Zah Jackson and offensive lineman Thomas Barr out of the Haveford (Pa.) School.
