3-star RB Jordan Louie decommits from West Virginia
Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Meadowcreek three-star running back Jordan Louie has decommitted from West Virginia. He was previously pledged to the Mountaineers since June 13.
Louie is the No. 708 overall prospect and No. 52 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 65 player in Georgia.
“I’d like to first thank God for allowing me to be in this position,” Louie wrote in a statement published to social media. “Secondly, I would like to especially thank Coach Leslie and Coach Chad Scott for recruiting me. Also, Coach Neal Brown and the fans for believing in me and accepting me into their family. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who played a role in getting me this far.
“After a lot of prayer and speaking with my family, I would like to decommit from West Virginia University and publicly open up my recruitment, 100% to all schools. I want to explore my options. West Virginia could potentially still be a landing spot for me. Thank you and please respect my decision.”
Following Louie’s decommitment, West Virginia’s 2023 recruiting class now contains 18 prospects. The Mountaineers still have a running back commit in York (Penn.) William Penn three-star Jahiem White.
Additionally, West Virginia’s 2023 class is No. 35 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 6 in the Big 12. The group is led by Uniontown (Penn.) Laurel Highlands four-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher, the No. 249 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
What to know about Louie’s recruitment
Louie currently holds nearly 10 offers from programs including Arkansas, Louisville and North Carolina. He took an unofficial visit to Georgia on Oct. 8.

“It was great,” Louie told On3’s Jeremy Johnson about his time in Athens. “I spent time with coach Scott Cochran. He really wants me at Georgia. Was with coach (Dell) McGee. He’s such a great guy. Also, I’ve spent time with (head) coach (Kirby) Smart and he told me he loves my film and also the way I can catch out of the backfield.”
Clemson is another team expressing interest in Louie, a 6-foot-0, 205-pound tailback. He also seems very intrigued by the Tar Heels.
“My interest level in them is pretty high,” Louie told Johnson. “Coach Mack Brown is a great guy. The thing I like about them is that they’re straightforward. They don’t sugarcoat. They don’t try to make you feel this or make you feel this. I like people that are going to be straightforward with you instead of trying to shoot me the bullcrap and then I get there and it be something totally different. I want you to be honest with me before all that happens.”
Louie has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.7K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
