WATCH: Kedrian Johnson makes defender look silly with vicious crossover step back

The West Virginia Mountaineers are pulling out all the stops to try and upset the No.14 ranked TCU Horned Frogs at home. And this vicious crossover step back by Mountaineers guard Kedrian Johnson helped his team extend their lead midway through the second half.
Johnson was able to stop on a dime in the paint while crossing over with a defender right in his face. That defender, TCU’s forward JaKobe Coles, bit hard on the move, falling on his backside leaving the West Virginia guard wide open for the easy duce.
Johnson leads all scorers in the game with just over four minutes left in the game with 18 points. TCU is the nation’s No.14 ranked team for a reason. The Horned Frogs have pulled within single digits late, now trailing by four points. In order for West Virginia to pull off the upset, they are going to need a few more highlight plays from Johnson and the rest of the Mountaineers squad.

West Virginia pull off the upset over TCU
TCU was able to make it close down the stretch coming two within one possession but could never take the lead from West Virginia. The Mountaineers successfully pulled off the upset, beating the Horn Frogs 74-65. Johnson led the way in scoring for West Virginia, finishing the game with 20 points. Forward Jimmy Bell Jr. was second in scoring for West Virginia, tacking on 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds, recording another double-double on the season. The Horned Frogs’ backcourt of Mike Miles and Damien Baugh did all they could to keep the horned frogs in the game scoring 34 of TCU’s 65 points.
Up next for West Virginia is another home game on Saturday against a top-ranked foe. This time they will host the No.7 team in the nation, the Texas Longhorns. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT from the WVU Coliseum.
