LOOK: West Virginia unveils 'Country Roads' jersey ahead of 2022 Backyard Brawl
West Virginia Football has some brand new uniforms honoring late country music legend John Denver. In an homage to Denver’s classic hit, “Take Me Home, Country Road” the Mountaineers and Nike partnered to create “Country Roads” uniforms for their annual matchup with Pittsburgh — called the Backyard Brawl.

Hmm, interesting to name the jerseys after the song but include a different song altogether in the announcement video…until the very end. But a cool looking video and announcement to honor the state of West Virginia. Here are a few more pictures of the new threads below.
Those gold helmets are pretty slick, but otherwise, how different are they from your standard road whites? Well, anyway, WVU and those gold chrome helmets will take on Pittsburgh on September 1st.
