Report: West Virginia commit shot, recovering from injury

West Virginia commit Raheim Jeter was shot Friday in a road rage incident, according to a social media post from his mother. A later report from EerSports says that Jeter is “doing well and recovering” while awaiting further treatment from doctors.
Raheim Jeter, a 2023 three-star quarterback in the On3 consensus, committed to West Virginia on Dec. 20, 2021, after earning offers from Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and others. The 6-foot-3 Spartanburg High School product from South Carolina ranks No. 552 in the country and No. 7 in the state.
His mother, Latresha Hughes, posted the following statement on Facebook, announcing the news about her son’s unfortunate injuries while asking for thoughts and prayers.
“Some may know, some may not, my son Raheim Jeter was involved in a road rage incident on Friday,” the post read. “He was shot in his left leg and will be having surgery soon. I’m asking that everybody keep us in your prayers. I can’t say much about the incident because I don’t know everything, but I will say my God is awesome! Thanks to everyone who reached out and continue to pray for him.”
