Uniontown (Penn.) Laurel Highlands four-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher committed to West Virginia on May 25. However, he took an unofficial visit to Penn State on Nov. 26.

Gallagher silenced any doubts about his pledge to the Mountaineers on Sunday. He announced over Twitter that he reaffirmed his commitment to West Virginia and will be signing with the program.

“I’m staying a Mountaineer and locked in with the program,” Gallagher wrote in a message on social media. “Will be signing on December 21st.”

Gallagher is the No. 248 overall prospect and No. 33 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Pennsylvania.

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Rodney Gallagher On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Rodney Gallagher:

“Do-it-all athlete with a penchant for making big plays with the ball in his hands. Plays all over the field for his high school on both sides of the ball, but projects as a slot receiver long-term. Has a smaller build and frame, at 5-foot-9.5, 165 pounds with a 29-inch arm. Played quarterback as a junior, rushing for 1,130 yards and 21 touchdowns. Shows the ability to rip off long runs with the ball in his hands.

“Has high-end quickness and change of direction. Toggles speeds in the open field. Has lateral agility to make defenders miss in space. Has a background as a top youth basketball player, which aids in ball skills and winning at the catch point. Quicker than fast with top-end speed being a question in addition to his size.”
