Rodney Gallagher to West Virginia: "This is a final decision"
Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers have landed a commitment from four-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher. It came down to Notre Dame and West Virginia for the No. 106 prospect in the On3 Consensus before Gallagher decided he wanted to call Morgantown home.
“My head has everywhere, so I sat down, broke everything down, and figured it out,” Gallagher told On3. “I looked at the rosters, my relationship, the campus, how I fit, my chances at the next level, and I went through so many steps, and West Virginia is the school.
“I made the final decision about five or six days ago. Once I really looked at everything, I knew it was West Virginia, and I knew I was ready.”
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound four-star wide receiver out of Uniontown (Pa.) Laurel Highlands recently visited schools like Penn State and Virginia Tech. He had official visits lined up to Oklahoma State and Penn State in June, but his visit to Morgantown on June 3 will be it.
“My official visit to West Virginia will be the only one I take. My recruitment is shut down. I have made my decision and given coach Brown my definitive answer. This is the best decision for me and this is a final decision.”
