WATCH: West Virginia unveils uniforms ahead of matchup with Iowa State Cyclones
The West Virginia Mountaineers currently sit at 3-5 overall and they’re gearing up to face off against the 3-5 Iowa State Cyclones this weekend. Both teams need a win to keep their bowl hopes alive. Check out the uniforms the Mountaineers will be wearing on Saturday.
The video helps you see the uniforms a little more clearly and the “Country Roads” on the back of the helmets is a nice touch. The navy helmets with the Yellow “WV” on the side are always a great combination.
Something about the navy and yellow just works with West Virginia’s helmets. Those two colors are a huge part of their brand, so it makes sense. Another unique addition of these uniforms is something that’s become popular in football the past two years–usage of the thigh pads. The right thigh pad has the West Virginia logo and then the left one has the player’s number.
West Virginia freshman running back CJ Donaldson has had an excellent freshman campaign
West Virginia freshman running back C.J. Donaldson was back to his dominant ways last week against TCU. He rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on just 19 carries–giving him his fourth 100-yard plus rushing game in his debut season of college football. Keep in mind, the former three-star tight end has done that while missing a few weeks due to injuries.
