Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman three-star wide receiver Trech Kekahuna has decommitted from Wisconsin. He was previously committed to the Badgers since June 19.

Kekahuna is the No. 1,362 overall prospect and No. 202 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Hawaii.

On3 rates him higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Kekahuna is the No. 194 wide receiver and No. 4 player in Hawaii.

“First of I just wanna thank the Wisconsin coaching staff for giving me this BIG opportunity,” Kekahuna wrote in a statement published to social media. “I really appreciate every single coach in the program and I appreciate all the love and support that they have gave me and my family!! But, with that being said I will be opening my recruitment by decommitting from the University of Wisconsin!!”

Following Kekahuna’s decommitment, Wisconsin’s 2023 recruiting class contains 12 pledges. The group currently ranks No. 51 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the Big Ten.

Kekahuna has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
