LOOK: Wisconsin's Braelon Allen shares support for Paul Chryst after firing
After the shocking decision by Wisconsin to fire coach Paul Chryst on Sunday, running back Braelon Allen shared a strong message of support. Allen seemed to be clear in his message on Twitter, stating that the only people who wanted Chryst to be fired were from outside of the team that loved him as a coach.

“Anyone who wanted Coach Chryst gone isn’t a part of this team,” is all Allen said after the news spread on Sunday.
While explaining the decision made to replace Chryst, Wisconsin Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh outlined the timeframe for everything. According to McIntosh, he and Chryst had a long conversation on Sunday morning where they discussed the future of the program and what was best for the school. McIntosh came to the decision to replace the Badgers coach — a decision that he and Chryst both relayed to the team in a closed-door meeting.
As McIntosh explained, he knew before firing Chryst how important he was to the school and his players. Despite their bond, he felt the choice needed to be made at this time of the season and made the call.

Allen’s comment seems to highlight that the decision was not a popular one with everybody — and that the closed-door meeting might have included more than a few players unhappy with the move.
McIntosh went on to explain during his press appearance that he had no plans to reveal what was said during the team meeting, instead focusing on finishing the remainder of the season strong. In Chryst’s place, defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was named interim head coach — a position that is not guaranteed past this season as McIntosh begins a full coaching search.
