DL Jay’viar Suggs has committed to Wisconsin out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. On3’s Hayes Fawcett shared the news of his commitment to the Badgers, one of the three schools he visited while transferring, on Friday.

Suggs had plenty of options instead of the Badgers. He chose them over interest from several schools including Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

Suggs just finished a lone season at LSU after five in Division II at Grand Valley State. That now gives him one year of eligibility left to now spend in Madison.

While with the Tigers, Suggs posted 10 tackles, three being for loss, with 2.5 sacks and a pair of deflections in a dozen appearances. That’s after having 42 tackles, 14.5 being for loss, with seven sacks, nine deflections, and two forced fumbles in 23 games with the Lakers with 11 of those being starts as junior during his final season there.

With that, Suggs was the No. 61 DL and the No. 670 overall transfer in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players.

Now, Suggs is the 16th addition in the portal during this cycle for Wisconsin. He’s their fourth commitment on the defensive line along with Mason Reiger (Louisville), Parker Petersen (Tulane), and Charles Perkins (UT Martin). They all come in alongside QBs Danny O’Neil (San Diego State) and Billy Edwards Jr. (Maryland), WRs Jayden Ballard (Ohio State) and Mark Hamper (Idaho), TE Tanner Koziol (Ball State), DEs Micheal Garner (Grambling State) and Tyreese Fearbry (Kentucky), DBs Matthew Traynot (Richmond) and Matt Jung (Bethel), LB Antarron Turner (Western Carolina), CB Geimere Latimer (Jacksonville State), and LS Eli Stein (Arkansas).
