Former Miami cornerback D’yoni Hill will transfer to play for Wisconsin in the 2025 season, he announced Sunday via X. It will mark the second transfer in as many seasons for Hill, who played the first two years of his college career at Marshall.

Hill appeared in 11 games with five starts for the Hurricanes this past year. He recorded 33 total tackles (including one for loss) and one pass defended.

As a recruit, Hill was a three-star prospect out of Gainesville (FL) High School in 2022. He ranked as the No. 1,562 overall player and No. 140 cornerback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hill appeared in 10 games as a true freshman off the bench during his first season at Marshall in 2022. He would go on to become a starter the next year, recording 55 total tackles, 11 passes defended, one interception and one forced fumble.

Hill is the 17th player and the second cornerback that Wisconsin has added through the transfer portal. The Badgers are coming off of a 5-7 season and can use all the help they can get as they look to turn things around.

Hill ranks as the No. 623 overall player and the No. 80 cornerback according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings.

That’s after having 42 tackles, 14.5 being for loss, with seven sacks, nine deflections, and two forced fumbles in 23 games with the Lakers with 11 of those being starts as junior during his final season there.
