2024 LB Thomas Heiberger commits to Wisconsin Badgers
Sioux Falls (S.D.) Jefferson three-star linebacker Thomas Heiberger committed to the Wisconsin Badgers Sunday afternoon. He announced the news on Twitter.
Heiberger is the No. 575 overall prospect and No. 63 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in South Dakota.
Heiberger’s decision to commit to Wisconsin comes just over a week after he took his third visit to Madison. Prior to April, Heiberger visited on Jan. 21, Nov. 26 and he’s also set to take an official to Wisconsin on June 10.
Aside from his trips to Wisconsin, Heiberger has also taken visits to Minnesota, South Dakota State, Nebraska, North Dakota State, Iowa, North Dakota and Iowa State. He’s visited both Minnesota and Nebraska this spring.
Thomas Heiberger currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $23K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Heiberger a welcome addition to Wisconsin’s 2024 class
With Heiberger’s commitment, Wisconsin now has five commitments in its 2024 class. The class a whole ranks as the No. 19 class in country and the No. 5 class in the Big Ten.
In the 2023 cycle, the Badgers only signed 15 players and finished with the No. 43 class in the country and No. 8 class in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin’s other four 2024 commitments are Algonquin (Ill.) Harry D Jacobs four-star tight end Grant Stec, Waunakee (Wis.) three-star tight end Rob Booker, The Woodlands (Texas) three-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer and Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead three-star offensive tackle Derek Jensen.
Wisconsin seems to have made it a priority to recruit in-state under Luke Fickell as they’ve landed two of the state’s top-10 players already and are in the mix for several more including Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial four-star interior offensive lineman Donovan Harbour and Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial four-star running back Corey Smith.
