A weekend visit to Wisconsin was all it took for Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro EDGE Tristan Monday. The three-star EDGE told 247Sports that he has flipped his commitment from Arizona to the Badgers after his official visit to Madison this past weekend.

Monday is the No. 832 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 74 player at his position nationally and the No. 11 prospect in Arizona.

Monday committed to the home-state Wildcats all the way back in March, when he chose Arizona over offers from Baylor, Florida State, Colorado, and Iowa State. Wisconsin had been in contact with him, though, and the Badgers extended an offer in late October.

Through 10 games this season, Monday has amassed 63 tackles, including 30 for loss, 9.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. As a junior in 2020, he totaled 40 tackles, 18 for loss, and 4.5 sacks in just six games.

Tristan Monday is commit No. 12 for Wisconsin

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Monday is the Badgers’ 12th commit in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Wisconsin has three four-star prospects in the fold, including top-100 offensive tackle Joe Brunner. Four-star safety Austin Brown and four-star defensive lineman Curtis Neal are the Badgers’ other top-500 prospects in this class.

Wisconsin’s class ranks No. 38 nationally and No. 7 in the Big Ten, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
