The relationship between college players and school sponsorships has changed in the NIL era of the NCAA. That’s exactly where a brand new look for the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team was created.

Earlier today, the program announced a new alternate, ‘By the Players’ jersey for their upcoming ’22-’23 campaign. They were created through the collaborative efforts of the team as well as their Under Armour sponsor. In the release, they said their goal was to reflect ideas of both equality and unity.

It’s a unique, blackout look for the Badgers. It also features gold stripes that have the words ‘equality’ and ‘unity’ along with the phrase ‘Wisconsin Forward’ stitched along them. This is the third ‘By the Players’ uniform that the Wisconsin program has rolled out with Under Armour.

The women’s team released a black alternate for their upcoming season as well. They’ll debut theirs on November 13 against North Florida along with other games throughout November and December in honor of the 50th anniversary of Title IX. As for the men, their jersey will debut December 23rd against Grambling State before wearing them again in recognition of Black History Month.

Considering the collaborative aspect of the players that come with them, these always make for some of the sport’s most unique jerseys. Fans will now anxiously await their introductions later this season as both Badger teams prepare for their openers on Monday.

Big Ten announces preseason All-Conference Team, Player of the Year

The Big Ten has announced the preseason all-Big Ten basketball team and player of the year, as selected by a media panel, and Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis has been named the preseason Big Ten player of the year. He is joined by 10 other players on the preseason all-conference team — an 11th player made the list due to a tie.

A number of players are reappearing on the list or moving up after being named an honorable mention a year ago.

All told, 10 of the 14 teams in the conference placed a player on the list, with Wisconsin the only program to have multiple. Missing the cut to feature a player on the preseason all-conference team were Ohio StateMarylandNebraska , and Northwestern.
