Wisconsin cornerback Ricardo Hallman to return to school for 2025 season
Wisconsin will get one of its best players back for the 2025 season, with cornerback Ricardo Hallman set to return rather than enter the NFL Draft, according to a report from The Athletic’s Jesse Temple.
Hallman was a third-team AP All-American during the 2023 season and has been a lockdown presence in the secondary for multiple years.
He started all 12 games for the Badgers during the 2024 season, targeted 33 times across 319 coverage snaps. During those looks, he allowed 20 catches. He also made 16 tackles, broke up four passes and blocked a field goal.
Ricardo Hallman had a breakout season nationally as a redshirt sophomore in 2023, recording 34 tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, seven interceptions, 12 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.
During his career at Wisconsin, Hallman has logged 60 tackles, 3.5 tackkles for a loss, eight interceptions, 21 pass breakups, a blocked kick and a defensive touchdown.

Prior to enrolling at Wisconsin, Ricardo Hallman was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 716 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. He checked in as the No. 64 cornerback in the class and the No. 95 overall player in the state of Florida in his cycle, hailing from Miami Gardens (FL) TRU Prep Academy.
Wisconsin adds defensive back from portal
Former Miami cornerback D’yoni Hill will transfer to play for Wisconsin in the 2025 season, he announced Sunday via X. It will mark the second transfer in as many seasons for Hill, who played the first two years of his college career at Marshall.
Hill appeared in 11 games with five starts for the Hurricanes this past year. He recorded 33 total tackles (including one for loss) and one pass defended.
As a recruit, Hill was a three-star prospect out of Gainesville (FL) High School in 2022. He ranked as the No. 1,562 overall player and No. 140 cornerback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
