WATCH: Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn has epic chase down block vs. Maryland
Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn had one of the best chase down blocks of the 2022-2023 college basketball season on Wednesday night. The Badgers’ point guard was well behind a play in transition against the Maryland Terrapins early in the first half. Maryland’s Jahmir Young tried to lay the ball up, but underestimated the speed of Hepburn in the process. The Wisconsin star turned on the burners late to come down and swat the basketball off the backboard with a beautiful chase down block.
Check it out below.
Maryland routed the Badgers on Wednesday night, 73-55. This season, Hepburn has done a little bit of everything for the Badgers, stuffing the stat sheet with 12.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
Ironically enough, Maryland’s Jahmir Young erupted for 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out five assists. Chucky Hepburn finished with just three points against Maryland on Wednesday night.
He recently shot 4 of 16 from the floor against Northwestern. The 6-foot-2 guard exploded for a career-high 23 points against Wake Forest on November 29th. Against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on January 3rd, the Nebraska native became the first Badger to tally 16-plus points, five-plus steals, and four-plus assists in a game since Ethan Happ did it in 2017.

As a freshman, Hepburn earned Big Ten All-Freshman honors, after averaging 7.9 points, leading the team in assists, and ranking second on the team in steals. He became the first true freshman to start a season opener for the Badgers since Devin Harris did it in 2001. Hepburn also drilled a game-winning three-pointer against the Purdue Boilermakers on March 1, 2022 to help lift the Badgers past the No. 8 ranked team in America.
Hepburn played his high school basketball at Bellevue West (Omaha, Nebraska). He was rated as a four-star prospect and was named the 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Nebraska.
