Wisconsin lands commitment from 6-10 Portland forward Austin Rapp

Portland freshman power forward Austin Rapp has committed to transfer to Wisconsin, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound Rapp, originally from Austrailia, will have three years of college elligibilty remaining.

Rapp, the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year, chose Wisconsin over heavy interest from fellow Big Ten rivals IowaMichigan, and Oregon, as well as Clemson. Rapp entered the portal after averaging 13.8 points on 39.7-percent shooting, including 35.2-percent from 3-point range, along with 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game in the 2024-25 season for the Pilots (12-20).

He also had versatility with his size as a stretch option with 83 made threes this season, which was first in the West Coast Conference and was second among every freshman in the NCAA behind only Texas’ Tre Johnson.

Rapp lands at Wisconsin as the 101-ranked player in the portal, according to On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, and it the No. 28-ranked power forward in the portal.

Rapp is also one of three departures so far during this portal cycle for PortlandMax Mackinnon, their leading scorer this past season, and Todd Jones have also entered their names in to transfer elsewhere.

Virginia transfer guard Andrew Rohde commits to Wisconsin

Former Virginia guard Andrew Rohde has committed to Wisconsin, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. He initially entered the portal on March 24.

Rohde spent two seasons with the Cavaliers, making 63 appearances and 53 starts. He averaged 9.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 31.0 minutes per game this season while shooting 43.2% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc.

Rohde had arguably his best performance of the season in Virginia’s loss to Duke on Feb. 17. In the loss, Rohde tallied a team-high 15 points, five rebounds and five assists on 5-10 shooting from the floor.

Rohde was far less productive during his first season with Virginia. He averaged just 4.3 points per game and shot 29.3% from the field. Before transferring to Virginia, Rohde spent one season at St. Thomas Minnesota.

While there, Rohde averaged a career-high 17.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game. For his efforts, he was named the Summit League Freshman of the Year and All-Summit League First-Team selection.
