Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen declares for 2024 NFL Draft
Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen announced on social media on Tuesday that he will entered the 2024 NFL Draft and forego his remaining college eligibility. Allen played three seasons for the Badgers.
In 35 career games, Allen carried 597 times for 3494 yards, good for 5.9 a carry. He also scored 35 touchdowns.
He leaves Wisconsin after his least productive college season, one hampered by a scheme change under a first year coach and bit of bad injury luck.
“I was proud to carry on the incredible legacy of RBU and follow in the footsteps of so many great running backs. I’ve tried to represent UW and my state with dignity and pride, and I’ve wanted to leave this program on even more solid footing than when I arrived. I have no doubt the Badgers are headed in the right direction. I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way. There are far too many people to name, but I’m extremely grateful. It’s always been my dream to play in the NFL, and I believe I’m ready to chase that next step. I’m excited to announce I’m declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Much love to my teammates and coaches. Once a Badger, always a Badger. On Wisconsin,” Allen said in the video announcing his decision.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.
The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility.
Last season, 69 players were granted special eligibility for the 2023 NFL Draft. 13 underclassmen who had completed their college degrees were also deemed eligible to be selected.
The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
