Check out his announcement he posted on Twitter below.
His announcement reads, “My time in Madison over the last 5 years has been everything I could have hoped for and more. The countless memories I experienced and lessons I have learned will stick with me for the rest of my life. I stepped onto campus as a wide eyed walk-on who just wanted a chance to prove myself and be a part of this great program. Now, looking back after five years later, I am confident that this will always be a place I can call home.”
“I want to thank Coach Chryst for giving me a chance to be a part of this program and Coach Leonhard for believing in me and putting me in positions to succeed. I also want to thank the guys in the locker room that make this program special. I will never forget the memories we made on and off the field. Whether it was a grinder Tuesday practice or a summer night on the lake, we never failed to make the most of it and I’ll miss that the most. With that being said, my college career has come to an end and I will be declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft. #OnWisconsin John Torchio #15“
His five interceptions ranked him tied for 11th in the nation in the stat.
