WATCH: Wisconsin star Nick Herbig loses mind following summer workout lift
Fall camp hasn’t started yet but Wisconsin linebacker Nick Herbig is clearly chomping at the bit to get on the field. The junior linebacker posted a video on Twitter from summer workouts which shows him executing a very heavy clean. With his teammates hyping him up around him, Herbig throws down the bar and celebrates by sticking his tongue out wildly like he just sacked C.J. Stroud.
The potential 2023 NFL Draft pick captioned the video, “Live look at how I’m feeling heading into camp,” with several tongue-out emojis.
Entering his third season with the Badgers, Nick Herbig is coming off of a breakout year in 2021. He had 61 total tackles with 40 solo, 14.5 TFLs and nine sacks. He also had a forced fumble. His sacks put him at No. 4 overall in the Big 10, behind three of the top linebackers taken in the 2022 NFL Draft – Aidan Hutchinson, David Ojabo and Arnold Ebiketie.

Last season, Herbig had three games with two or more sacks. He had two versus Notre Dame, 2.5 versus Iowa and two in the Las Vegas Bowl win versus Arizona State. His performances earned him All-Big Ten honorable mention.
