On Friday, Wisconsin‘s fans stormed the court after the Badgers defeated No. 9 Arizona 103-88. With the win, Wisconsin improved to 4-0 on the season.

Wisconsin guard John Tonje stole the show in the triumph, erupting for a game-high 41 points and six rebounds while shooting 8-14 from the field and an astounding 21-22 from the free-throw line. Tonje entered the game averaging 17.7 points per contest.

The graduate student guard was far from the Badgers’ only standout. John Blackwell and Max Klesmit each recorded double figures as well for the Badgers. Wisconsin finished the game with 17 assists on its 25 made field goals.

Wisconsin’s defense was just as impressive as its offense. The Badgers held Arizona to 38% shooting from the field while only allowing the Wildcats to make 17% of their 3-point attempts.I

At times, it was an uphill battle for the Badgers, who only recorded 28 rebounds compared to Arizona’s 52. Consequently, the Wildcats scored nearly five times as many second-chance points as Wisconsin.

Bill Self reveals how much longer he will coach

While it’s difficult to imagine college basketball without Bill Self, he can’t coach forever. On Friday, the Kansas men’s basketball head coach pulled back the curtain on how much longer he plans to be around the game.

“That’s the first time it’s ever crossed my mind,” Self joked. “I actually hope to do it a while longer. Times are different, though. Times are different. I used to look at it, and I got a dear friend who talked to me about this all the time. You kind of look at life in five-year increments. I’m not sure it’s five years anymore. Maybe two or three. And then, you decide what you do after those increments.

“I don’t know how you guys look at it, but that’s not anything I’ve spent any time on. I like our team and I’m very excited about a recruiting class moving forward… I don’t have the answer, but I know that I’m on the back nine. I don’t know if I’m on 13 or 16, but I’m not on 18.”
