Wisconsin WR Will Pauling injured vs. Rutgers

Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Will Pauling was injured late in the second quarter during a catch and fumble against Rutgers.

Pauling reeled in a pass but was clobbered by Dariel Djabome over the middle. The Badgers wideout dipped his head and was down momentarily.

However, he was able to get to his feet and walk slowly to the sideline with Wisconsin up 14-0. At the time of the injury, Pauling had four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown, leading all categories for the Badgers.

In fact, he was the leading receiver of the entire game to that point.

Will Pauling injured, Wisconsin leads 14-0 at halftime

Coming into the game, Pauling had 21 catches for 202 yards, one touchdowns and 9.6 yards per catch. He’s currently in his second seasons with Wisconsin after two years at Cincinnati.

In his career, Pauling has 108 catches, 1,167 yards, seven touchdowns and 10.8 yards per catch.

If Pauling can’t return to the ball game, Wisconsin would be down its top receiver Saturday.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Pauling was a three-star recruit out of Flossmoor (Ill.) Homewood-Flossmoor, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 30 overall prospect in the state, the No. 168 wide receiver in the class and the No. 1,167 overall prospect in the class.
