Alia Armstrong
Personal Life
Originally from New Orleans St. Katherine Drexel Prep, Alia Armstrong won the 2018 USATF Junior Olympic 100-meter title and won four state titles at the 2019 LHSAA championships. Armstrong earned All-America status at LSU in the 2020 indoor season in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 7.95 seconds and an 8.15 second time at the SEC Championships. In 2021, she was a finalist in the 100-meter hurdles at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Armstrong initially had a frustrating 2022 when she was disqualified from the SEC Indoor Championships and disqualified again at the NCAA Indoor Finals. In June 2022, however, Armstrong won the 100-meter NCAA Outdoor Championship. Armstrong then finished third in the senior 2022 USATF championship, after running a personal best of 12.47 seconds in the final. The finish helped her qualify for the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Armstrong has a solid social media presence with around 30,000 followers on Instagram.
