Personal Life
Angel Reese redefined what it meant to be an elite basketball player, social influencer and NIL star during her college career. Reese was one of the first players in college basketball to use the transfer portal to great success after starting her career at Maryland. Reese was one of the driving forces of LSU's 2023 national championship team. She was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player, after averaging 21.3 points and 15.2 rebounds over six games. She finished her LSU career with 61 double-doubles and averaged 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds. Reese used the success on the court to drive success through massive NIL deals with top brands Goldman Sachs, Beats by Dre, Reebok, Airbnb, Amazon, PlayStation, Starry, Mielle Organics, Raising Cane's and countless others. She also was one of the first college athletes to appear in the SI Swimsuit issue. “Angel transferred to LSU after my first season in Baton Rouge and she helped transform our program,” LSU coach Kim Mulkey said after Reese was drafted 7th in the 2024 WNBA Draft. “When she came here, she said she wanted to be here for two seasons and she has lived up to that. What a remarkable two years it has been. We are all indebted to Angel Reese for the contributions she has given to this program, helping us win our first national championship and the contributions she made on our university as a whole. She not only helped grow our program but had an impact on growing the game of women’s basketball across the country.”
