As a College Recruit

One of the more physically-gifted linebacker prospects in the 2023 cycle. Measured at over 6-foot-3, and around 220 pounds with a 32.75-inch arm prior to his senior season. Gained around 20 pounds after the end of his junior year. Turned in multiple 4.65 second 40-yard dash times at a regional camp prior to his senior season. Played a portion of his junior year, working as a linebacker. Showed tantalizing range, athleticism and striking power in the small sample. Has the speed and athleticism to run sideline to sideline. Plants ball carriers on impact. Also has the ability to rush off the edge on passing downs. Transferred to traditional power Glenville prior to his senior season. Has one of the higher upsides among linebackers in the 2023 cycle, but has a smaller body of work at this time. Young for the class - will turn 18 years old right before his first game as a freshman in college.

Arvell Reese's physical tools with high end size and speed for the position along with good length reminds us of Quay Walker. Both are big, fast linebackers who project well for today's game. Walker also played some offense in high school, while Reese was primarily a defensive player.

Arvell Reese is an On3 Outlier

Charles Power

The linebacker cycle in 2023 lacks big frames and high-end length for the position. Arvell Reese has one of the bigger frames among the group, checking in at over 6-foot-3 and around 225 pounds with close to 33-inch arms. Reese pairs that size with good athleticism and posted a 4.59 second 40-yard dash at Ohio State’s camp this summer. He’s had a bit of an up and down high school career to date, but has flashed considerable physical upside and potential. Reese transferred to Cleveland Glenville prior to his senior season and could be in line for a big final campaign. He’s another who is younger for the cycle, and won’t turn 17 years-old until late August.
