2023 Nike Hoop Summit
At the McDonald’s All American game, Bronny James showcased the shooting touch. At this game he showed he can attack the basket. Here, James was at his best as a secondary ball handler, or off the ball completely. He took advantage of sloppy close outs and he used a change of pace to get to the rim and draw fouls. The handle was shaky in the half court, when he was asked to create offense from the primary position. The shored shored up when asked to play within 2-3 dribbles. The jump shot was also inconsistent here, shooting back-to-back air balls at one point. Defensively, James gives good effort. He is disruptive on the ball, instinctive off the ball, and not afraid to stick his nose in the middle of things. This was a good showing as James is starting to settle in to who he is as a player.
He finished with 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 turnovers. He was 5-9 FG and 1-4 3P.
