Personal Life
A native of London, Ontario, Chase Brown signed with Western Michigan in the Class of 2018 out of Bradenton (Fla.) St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. Brown played in all 13 games as a true freshman and made a significant impact, especially on special teams with an 18.9-yard kickoff return average. He transferred to Illinois for the 2019 season and ended up redshirting after playing in only four games. Brown then had a breakout 2020 season, earning third-team All-Big Ten honors. That success carried over to the 2021 season, where he again earned all-conference honors and finished third in the league in rushing yards per game (100.5) and seventh overall in rushing yards (1,005). Brown had an explosive start to the 2022 season with nearly 200 yards rushing against Indiana. He also would become the first running back in school history to start a season with back-to-back 150-plus yard rushing games. Brown’s father played in the CFL for three seasons.
