Cody Williams is a tricky one to evaluate. He has impressive measurables with positional size and length. He has passing and processing chops which date back to high school when he played almost exclusively on the ball as a primary initiator. The thing with Williams as a primary initiator is that he did not get north/south. He lacks explosive burst as an athlete and carries a thin frame. While he can be a creative finisher at the basket, he did not do much of that in the half-court. There is also the question of shooting, and he will need to continue cleaning up his release. He did shoot 41.7 percent from three, but it was on a small sample size and most of it was off the catch with a teammate creating the look. Williams has never been much of a threat to shoot, so that will be a big swing for him. He had a couple of smaller injuries this season. The shooting was a positive and the processing is clear on film that dates back to high school. Can he take a step in self-creation and become a true connector as the length and natural feel lead to defensive upside as well?

Cody Williams looks the part, possible even growing another inch since last saw him early in the season. He was very comfortable on the ball, handling in the half court and pushing in the open floor. He plays with a subdued demeanor and can, at times, drift in and out of the game. He is a solid athlete, and you want to see more consistency from the jumper. Great length with nice upside on the defensive end. The tools are there along with long term upside and intrigue.

Cody Williams has great length with broad shoulders, a very predictable frame. He has great instincts, especially on the defensive end of the floor. He is aggressive and instinctive in the passing lanes. Williams needs strength, with the added strength more explosion could come. Offensively, he has some tools across the board. A solid straight line driver in the half court. Would like to see him tighten the handle and straighten up the jump shot. With the added strength more efficiency could come. Younger brother of 2022 lottery pick Jalen Williams.
