Personal Life
Daijun Edwards ranked as one of the top 30 recruits coming out of Georgia in the Class of 2020. Edwards finished his career at Moultrie (Georgia) Colquitt County with 4,413 career yards on 715 carries in 55 games for a 6.17-yard average. Edwards rushed for 218 yards in 2020. He was a reserve running back in the 2021 season, tallying 210 yards and two scores. Even though he was still a backup in 2022, Edward finished second on the team with 797 rushing yards on 140 carries with seven touchdowns. He finished with 88 yards rushing in the Bulldogs' two College Football Playoff games. Edwards broke out with 118 yards and a touchdown in the SEC opener against South Carolina. By mid-season, he had firmly entrenched himself as the Bulldogs' leading rusher. “He’s workman-like," UGA coach Kirby Smart said. “The guy’s got great vision, great toughness. He’s really hard to tackle. His balance is so tough. He does not take many tough shots. He’s got good wiggle, really good short-yardage guy, really patient, hits the hole. Where would be right now without Daijun? I don’t know, because his toughness has won out.”
