Brings a combination of size, athleticism and playmaking to the table at cornerback. He has solid size at 5-foot-11.5, 176 pounds. Austin has shown some improved speed this spring, running 10.82 seconds in the 100 meters. He had a strong junior season and really excelled as a return man. We saw Austin’s playmaking ability on display as he took several kick and punt returns to the house. He drives on the ball in coverage. Austin also shows ball skills at corner with the ability to track and high-point the ball downfield.

LSU cornerback commit Daylen Austin worked out for a portion of Friday’s morning session at LSU's elite skills camp and looked the part of an On300 prospect. The 6-foot, 175-pounder was fluid and coordinated in drills and stayed in-phase in coverage in his limited 1-on-1 reps. Austin has good length and athleticism for the position.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Long Beach (Calif.) Poly cornerback was up to the task as the top boundary cornerback in attendance. Austin was sharp in and out of his breaks, closing in on routes underneath and contesting balls consistently down the sideline. Austin is consistently competitive and feisty in coverage and is natural as he turns and runs with receivers.
