Dee Alexander
Personal Life
Dee Alexander loves to prove to people that she can hang with anybody – including the boys – on the basketball court. “People think that girls basketball is different than boys, but I feel like it’s the same," Alexander said. "Girls can be just as tough as boys and sometimes even tougher. So, it’s not really a difference to me. I love proving people wrong and showing them what I can do.” Alexander did that a lot throughout her high school career. After he junior season, she was named as the Ohio Ms. Basketball Player of the Year for the second straight time. Alexander averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals per game for the Purcell Marian in the 2023-2024 season. She also became the Ohio High School Athletic Association's all-time girls basketball state tournament scoring leader during the first half of the 2024 Division II state final. "How much Dee has grown over the past couple of years, how she's been able to handle herself, how she's been able to carry herself has really been quite remarkable," Purcell Marian coach Jamar Mosley said.
