2024 DL De'Myrion Johnson is a force up front for Westgate in playoff opener

Four-star junior DL De’Myrion Johnson closed last season out with authority and has been even more impactful this season. That was the case during the team’s jamboree and again working at defensive end for Westgate and consistently doing his part to slow down the run and also make plays behind the line of scrimmage. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder is light on his feet with excellent bend and uses his hands very well against opposing linemen. Johnson was effective setting the edge against the run and also crashing in on inside runs. He chased down runners beyond the line of scrimmage in pursuit and made a handful of splash tackles for loss throughout the game.

On300 DL De'Myrion Johnson makes several plays behind the line in fall scrimmage

On300 defensive lineman De'Myrion Johnson came up with a handful of splash plays behind the line of scrimmage and was able to generate pressure from the 3-tech and disrupt several pass attempts, even if it didn't result in sacks. He can mash inside and commands multiple blockers, and he's developing as an interior pass-rusher that's very hard to contain. He swatted away two passes, had several hits on the quarterback and was a key cog in Westgate's goal-line stops commanding multiple blockers in the middle of the defensive line.
